I have a new BOOKS page, with books on fascism in America, authoritarianism, violence and bigotry, and more, with links to book reviews and author interviews and information about the authors.
(10-13-2018) Hi people! I come across interesting new books on fascism, authoritarianism, violence, especially police violence and bigotry all the time, and older ones as well, which I write down for myself, to read for the book I’m going to write myself. Sometimes I share them on the Big No-No Facebook page, but that’s fleeting. So here’s my BOOKS page, where they will stay — I will just add newer ones to the top. I will try to get the book reviews and interviews from varying sources; however, I don’t intend to spend a whole lot of time on this, so I can’t promise that New York Times book reviews won’t be over-represented.
Of course there are libraries’ worth of literature on the subject, but I will focus particularly on books on fascism, authoritarianism, government violence and government-sanctioned and -condoned violence in America. Is there really fascism in America? What does American fascism look like? Is Trump a fascist? What are the differences between patriotism, nationalism and ultra-nationalism? You’ll also find books on police violence, hate groups and all forms of bigotry, especially where it’s institutionalized.
Creating a post for each book looks terrible, and there might be one a day, so that’s why I decided to keep just one post that I update. Which means that you’ll just have to visit the BOOKS page regularly if you want to check out what’s new in the way of books on fascism in America, authoritarianism, violence and bigotry.
